The trees outside our kitchen windows have become something of a winter bird sanctuary. I love feeding the birds when it's cold out. They are lovely to watch as they munch their suet all day long. A woodpecker has been coming to the chickadee feeder and sharing the treats and one afternoon when the suet had run out, he peep-peep-peeped into the window to let us know that we had better replace that suet cake, pronto! (:
