Blog feature (:

Lucky me (: Rebekah Leigh was awesome enough to include me in her lovely etsy treasury AND include my art print, "The Land of Snow Bunnies" in her recent blog post. Yay! I love how we creative types support one another. It makes my heart happy (:
Thank you Rebekah! You rock!

I've been busy (: And in the best way! I have been making sweet greeting cards from my original illustrations! They are printed first onto fine watercolour paper and then machine embroidered. So pretty! I am offering them in sets of three in my etsy shop (:

Make it indie

On Sunday we had a lovely day at the Make it Indie show in Cobourg (: As it was its' first year we didn't know what to expect, but we had a great day and made loads of great contacts and friends. We woke up at 4:30 am to get showered and dressed, left the house by 5:30 and arrived a bit before 7. Did I mention that we brought along a certain baby boy to partake of the fun? We certainly did, and considering the super-early wake-up and constant pace of the day, he did really, really well. I think many of the other vendors thought we were crazy for bringing a toddler, and in fact Jason and I were terrified at the thought of it, but we had no other choice. All in all, he was completely happy aside from a couple grumpy moments which were easily remedied with a stroll, snacks or nursing. Anyway, here is a picture of our booth, which we absolutely loved. So pretty!

And a close-up (: Jason showcased his paintings and handmade sketchbooks alongside a whole bunch of PipoDoll things: dolls, plush gnomes, owls and matryoshkas, ornaments, art prints, embroidered art cards, baby shirts and onesies, origami sets and even some obsidian and petrified wood that Jason collected on his travels across the country.
The day after the show, we all woke up exhausted. A calm day of napping and regeneration ensued. I actually found myself to be quite sick with a raging headache, stomachache and all-over body ache and dizziness. Not good. I am not usually one to nap EVER unless I absolutely, totally have to. I hate napping. But nap I did, and today I feel considerably better (:

Good news on Wednesday!

Well, I woke up this morning (after perhaps 2 hours of broken sleep thanks to a certain small human named Jude but never mind that) and discovered that my origami paper lanterns had been featured in the on the lovely blog 'S and O Productions' in an etsy treasury (: 'Treasury Tuesday ~ The Eight Elite'. Nice!

And also, My Willemina Doll found a new home! Yay! I am always so happy when the dollies find their new place in the world. They are like my little children, My daughters (:

In just three days, I am attending my first show of the season, so I am busy busy whipping up more ornaments and greeting cards every spare second I can find! Off I go! (:

today..

It snowed!
and Jude painted on the Buddha board (:
I am loving the snow. So magical! The squirrels are frantically rushing around the grass with their nut-gathering and the birds have been congregating in the trees. The tea kettle boils all day long in our little kitchen, making cup after cup of gloriously hot tea. I have been busy sewing today, putting the finishing touches on a batch of Christmas ornaments I am making for an arts and crafts show I'll be in next weekend.

If you're in the Port Perry, Ontario area next Saturday (November 13th), do stop by the high school for the Christmas craft show! Jason and I will be there with much in the way of creative goodness and beautiful handmades. The show is on from 10 am to 4 pm. (: See you there!

Halloween frivolity!

We started off Halloween day in just the right way ~ carving pumpkins, of course! Jude LOVED the experience. He scooped out the pumpkin for a half an hour at least and then, when empty, he dumped the pumpkin goo back in and started the whole process over again!
Happy boy (:

Isabella had fun carving her pumpkin too (:

It SNOWED!!! Isabella took off to enjoy the momentous occasion and made a mini-snowball to store in the freezer for Grandma-Jude (: We all love winter in this house!

Jude got SO into the pumpkin festivities that he ended up with it all over his head ;-)

Here are our pumpkins, all ready for Halloween night!

This is Isabella's! It's a monkey jack-o-lantern (:

And this is Jason's. He painted it a bit for extra-effect. Very awesome (:

Here is my pumpkin! The smallest of the lot, I started out making it cute, but then veered off into a totally different direction, with the 3-D tongue and eyeballs (:

Soooo....After the pumpkins were finished, Isabella got dressed up as a dead bride. Isn't she pretty? I did her make-up and made her costume (:

Jason painted Jude's face with autumn leaves (He loved it by the way and would have sat there all night ~ the brush must have felt nice on his skin!)...

And then he dressed up as a pumpkin! Too cute (:

It was frrrreeeeeeeezzzzing when we went out trick-or-treating. The coldest night yet! We bundled up nice and warm and walked around collecting candy for an hour and a half. It was immense fun. Many townspeople love Halloween as much as we do apparently; Their houses were decorated for the occasion and they were donning costumes as well. So much fun!! And then Jude got a bit cranky so we jumped in the car and headed home and ate some chocolate with peppeemint tea. Bliss, I tell you.
Oh, and of course we lit up this mischievious trio!

Happy Halloween!
