Ollie and his very own chicken

Here is Olllie with his special chicken (: She is very sweet and always lets him 'catch' her, even though he is obviously very slow, clumsy and toddler-ish. I think she likes being held, although I don't know why; I'm sure Ollie squishes her pretty hard! But he is so very fond of her, and when he sees her he exclaims with much excitement, "Mine! My chicken!" It is so wonderful to see (:

  1. I think it's a wonderful enriching experience for children to grow up with animals. They (animals) have so much to teach us, especially about love.

    1. I have always had it in the back of my head, going back to my childhood, that one day I would end up living in the quiet of the woods, surrounded by animals who were my friends. This has always been my idea of utopia. Animals do teach us so much about love, especially the unconditional kind. They are better 'people' than people sometimes (; My heart really does burst with happiness every time my little 'herd' comes running to greet me. I love them all dearly, and the chickens too!
