On a day as cold as this, I have been making soup!
...A quadruple batch of squash/potato/carrot/apple soup, and a single batch of French-Canadian pea soup with ham (: Just seeing the steam makes me feel a bit better!
Outside it is -22 celcius (-8 ferenheit) but feels like -30 (-22 F) with the wind chill. Brrrrrrr! And it is supposed to get even colder throughout the night. Our pipes are already frozen from last night.

Okay, silly question from this suburban girl - but what do you do when the pipes freeze? Don't they burst? Supposedly in the negatives here last night and today, which is rare.
ReplyDeleteWell...they could burst but that is an extreme thing to happen. We have been keeping heaters blowing on all the problem spots in the hopes that the problem won;t worsen. This happens every time the temp dips below 20, such a pain! But as soon as it warms a bit, the water runs again. There really is nothing else we can do about it; this is a really old house and the parts that are updated have been done so very poorly! (As in, no insulating in really important areas!) so we just deal with it.
DeleteThis picture is so warming. Your soup sound delicious , stay warm my friend. (:
ReplyDeleteThanks Kira (: I always love the pictures on your blog too, so lovely. I look forward to a visit soon, when it stops being so cold! xo
